Last night I stumbled over a, to me, yet unknown designer named Franziska Fuerpass who in collaboration with George Bezhanishvili founded the label Femme Maison after her graduation from University of Applied Arts in Vienna 2009. I quickly fell in love with her draping technique, choice of material and way of working with the silouette on each garment after browsing through her lookbook. The autumn/winter collection for 12/13 really inspired me and awoke further eagerness for beginning my education at Tillskärarakademin here in Stockholm this fall. For me, it is highly important that a collection engenders inspiration and creativity with the recipients. It has to provoke feelings, thoughts or memories that gives you the extra spark of fire you might need sometimes. In my personal oppinion this is exactly what she has succeeded with.
